Inspiration.

I feel inspired by the Year Up staff and my colleagues, the more I get to know these people the more inspiration I draw from them. One time I asked one of the instructors here at Year Up if he liked his job, the answer he gave me was; “this job was made for me”, after that  I realized that a job or career had to make me come back every day with a smile on my face  ready to learn. Knowing that people love their jobs motivates me to earn and love a career that will make me happy and financially stable; since I am an individual that believes money can buy anything, I am sometimes guided by the money, and if I could find a job that would feel right and paid good I would then achieved one of my goals. Inspiration for me is like an example, I see something then I feel motivated to get it, for example I wanted to go back to school and when I heard about Year Up I was inspired and motivated on going back to school, and now that I see people having fun and enjoining their jobs makes me want the same for me.Colleagues are a big part of inspiration because they show up everyday and are committed to the program even if they live 3 hours away from San Francisco, the determination they show is awesome. The Year Up staff helps everybody and feels good about it, I can ask anybody I the building for help and if they can’t help, they sure know somebody who can. The simple reason of them getting paid to help people and feel great about it is all of the inspiration and motivation I need to become a successful person.

In small and large ways, we are all inspired. We draw our inspiration from people, pictures, art, music, behaviour, nature, etc. Consider something that inspires you and write a blog post of 300-350 words about it. Here are some things you may touch on:
  • Describe the source of your inspiration- be specific and detailed.
  • What feelings or emotions do you experience?
  • Are you alone or do you share this inspiration with others? Are you aware of others having an alternate reaction to your source of inspiration?
  • Forecast how long you think this inspiration will last- does it inspire you in the moment or something that you will derive inspiration from for the years to come?
