Community: _____________________

Year Up would be one of the most important communities that I am involved with. I am currently still adapting and getting to know all of my colleagues; we are at Year Up with the same goal and support everybody that needs help, the atmosphere is positive and professional, we are not forced to show up every day, yet we still show up and motivate others to step out of their comfort zone, and when I personally feel uncomfortable, it is the same community that makes me feel the opposite.

To begin visualizing this group of people as a particular shape with particular functions and characteristics, Pre-write about this community. If you get stuck or aren’t sure what to write, answer some of the questions below and see where they take you:
· Who are the members of the community? How do they interact? What is central to their membership? Do members choose to be a part of this community or are they members because of other reasons (geography, ethnicity, religion, etc.)
· What are the community’s characteristics? Its benefits? Its disadvantages? Its successes? Its problems?
· What do you enjoy about the community? What do you dislike about it?

  1. Hi Sal,it is great to hear about how much you enjoy being a part of this community and the way that the community supports you. I would be interested in hearing about how you influence the community and the role you play as a community member. Also, can you tell me a little bit more about the community characteristics, benefits, disadvantages and successes. I would like to hear your thoughts on what type of impression you are making on the community. What type of brand have you been creating for yourself?
