Internship ready?

During my internship I expect to display many skills and talents, but this does not mean that I will not fail. Some questions I have as I approach internship are how the culture would affect my work ethics; this means that if my internship is super casual, would it make me a bit lazy? Does that mean a lot of down time? And the will the age gaps change the way I interact with coworkers?

The environment is a big part of having I successful internship in my opinion. Having young people around always makes the environment very energetic, I think that’s why our internship positions are important for some corporate partners. Also the manager’s play a big role on the environment, developing a positive professional relationship with a manager can help out a lot and having a bad relationship can make destroy any hopes of succeeding at a company.

Some of the soft skills that I want to improve during my internship are mostly tied to public speaking, I have improved tremendously during the L&D phase and I will keep improving during my internship.

The way I will stand out during my internship, I will stand out because I always say “yes” to whatever the assignment or favor somebody puts in front of me, which are actually a few traits I picked up recently, I am very accountable and responsible.
