Excelsior District
San Francisco Excelsior district, this is the place I have most memories stored in my head.
I’d like to start by saying that these streets have been real boring and that I consider them safe, let’s just say I hang out in other places more active than the excelsior district, it is pretty diverse I have neighbors from different nationalities and backgrounds, no gentrification or problems that I know of, the only complaint I have is that cop cars and ambulances always go up and down my street (Persia avenue), and since my room is in the window I hear and see everything, sometimes at night when I’m trying to sleep I can see the red and blue lights through my curtains and wish I my room would be downstairs, I am who I am because of me not because of my neighborhood, In some cases a neighborhoods shape individuals into a good person or a bad one, not in my book . I don’t really interact with nobody around my area because everybody lives their own life and you don’t really see kids hanging out in the streets, the only people you see walking around are students from all ages going back home or women walking their dogs, I sometimes run around the block to exercise and feel safe doing it even running at night feels not so dangerous, I don’t mind the whole concept of a lonely neighborhood because I’m usually not at home and when I am it feels nice to be left alone, I mean if you go to the store and you’re in a hurry then all of a sudden somebody starts a conversation with you it feels kind of bad telling them you don’t have time to hear about their stories. And even if the overall community bonding is not the greatest, it is a calm and nice neighborhood to live in, especially if you are the type of individual that minds their own business and likes not to be bothered, the excelsior district’s perfect for you.
